So, it seems that back handers, brown paper envelopes, money under the table or whatever you want to call it may have been paid to Spanish president Mariano Rajoy and regional leader of Castilla-La Mancha María Dolores de Cospedal.
According to financial records that were held by former treasurer Luis Bárcenas, the hand written records show that Rajoy may have been given up to €25.000 a year cash-in-hand.
The presidents name first appears in the record books in 1997 with six-monthly payments of 2.1 million Pesetas, the equivalent of €12.600 and also 1.05 million Pesetas €6.300, every 3 months. Apparently, the figures always amounted to the same…€25.200 a year. These payments have supposedly been recorded up to 1998.
Clashes with Police and peaceful marches were held across Spain last weekend demanding explanations and the removal of Rajoy.
We’ll have to see if this gets proven or if he gets cleared of the accusations.
