Palm Mar – The Town
Palm Mar is a modern residential resort still in development just along the coast from Los Cristianos. It has one road in and one road out so traffic tends to be kept to a minimum and it’s far quieter than its neighbours down the coast.
The town has been slowly developed since the 60s, but the real development started to take place in the late 1990s and early 2000s, this is when the likes of complexes such as San Marino, Laderas del Palm Mar and Cape Salema were built, bringing the town more into the public eye and as such, more property buyers started to flock to the area.
The main road in Palm Mar runs past bars and restaurants down to the sea front where there is a natural beach, part rocky, part stony and part sandy which is popular with those living in the town who swim and sunbathe there.
There are a good number of bars, shops and restaurants in the town and everything is within a 5 – 10 minute walk.
Within the last few years a new bus service has started and there is also a taxi rank.
Los Cristianos is a 7 or 8 minute drive away and Playa de Las Americas is another few minutes further down the TF1 and going the other way, the airport is 15-20 minutes away.
