If you want wide sandy beaches that go on for miles then Fañabe could well be your answer, in fact it is argued that the beaches in this area are some of the best on the island.
Well known for its upmarket shopping, hotels and restaurants, it has to be said that Fañabe is not on the cheaper end of the scale for holiday makers and the same must be said too for some of the property that can be found in the area.
Originally Fañabe was a small town, as were most of the other towns in Tenerife, but over recent years has been transformed into a 5 star resort.
In general Fañabe has a relaxed feel about it with good beaches, a nice mix of nationalities and is only about a 15 minute drive to the other more well known resorts such as Playa de Las Americas and Los Cristianos and about a 20 minute drive to the south airport.
There is a main promenade which runs from Torviscas all the way along the beautiful, honey coloured and well tended sandy beaches past Fañabe and on to Playa del Duque, the promenade is alive with bars and restaurants.
The rise of Playa del Duque has increased the competition immensely between the higher end resorts of Tenerife and there are a number of 5 star hotels in the Fañabe and Playa del Duque area as well as the luxurious shopping centre.
Fañabe and Playa del Duque do not suffer the noise and night clubs of the more famous resort of Playa de Las Americas and as such could be a more suitable choice for people with young families.
The attractions of Siam Park, Aqua Park are all close by and the resort is close to the TF1 motorway and as such, Loro Parque and the whole of the island is close by, there are also direct bus routes locally heading off to all areas of Tenerife.
